Make an AI LinkedIn post sound like you wrote it
LinkedIn is full of AI-drafted posts, and its real posts already read as AI-ish to detectors. That makes it the hardest and most useful place to get right.
Updated October 1, 2026
LinkedIn's human baseline is already AI-ish
At the line a detector's makers chose for general writing, 9.9% of real 2021 LinkedIn posts were flagged as AI. Posts written to impress are smooth and upbeat, which is what detectors look for. So we set LinkedIn's own line from 1,044 real posts: at it, 0.7% of real posts are flagged.
How AI posts give themselves away
- "It isn't just X, it's Y." It appeared 32 times in 600 AI drafts and never in 300 real posts.
- Em dashes: AI drafts used 10 to 15 times as many as people did (35.7 to 55.6 per 10,000 words, against 3.6).
- A rhetorical question answered in the next breath: "The result? A team that…" 10 times in 600 AI drafts, once in 300 real posts.
- Stock enthusiasm: thrilled to announce, game-changer, cutting-edge, seamless.
- Neat paragraphs that each make one point, and a closing line that tells you what to think.
A real before and after
From our round-3 test (samples_v3.txt): Qwen3.5 drafted a post from a real 2021 one, and Patois rewrote it. Detector score 5.27 before, flagged above 4.10; -1.75 after. Meaning similarity 0.95.

The facts and numbers survived. The "defining challenge of our time" sentence didn't, and the rewrite dropped the full stop after the link. That's why you read it before posting.
Edit a post yourself
- 01Cut the first line if it announces feelings ("Thrilled to share") rather than news. Say the news.
- 02Replace each "it isn't just X, it's Y" with a plain sentence about Y.
- 03Take out most em dashes. A comma or a full stop works.
- 04Delete the closing moral ("This is exactly the kind of…"). Let readers draw it.
- 05Add one detail from what actually happened: a number, a name, a moment.
- 06Read it in your own voice. If you wouldn't say a line to a colleague, rewrite it.

Round 3, report_v3.txt, at the LinkedIn 1% line. Meaning kept, measured as similarity to the draft: 0.91 out of 1. The posts are from 2021; how this holds on posts written today is untested. The writer flattens bullet lists into paragraphs, so put your line breaks back before posting.
Questions
Does LinkedIn detect AI posts?+
LinkedIn hasn't said it labels AI posts. Readers notice, though, and third-party detectors are often run on viral posts.
Why do real LinkedIn posts get flagged as AI?+
They're written to impress: smooth, upbeat and even, which is what detectors look for. At a general-purpose line, 9.9% of real 2021 posts were flagged. A line set for LinkedIn brought that to 0.7%.
What's the biggest giveaway in an AI LinkedIn post?+
In our counts, "it isn't just X, it's Y": 32 times in 600 AI drafts, never in 300 real posts. Heavy em dash use comes next.
Will rewriting change my hashtags or tags?+
Hashtags are kept. Tagged names can lose their formatting, so check them before you post.
Does it keep my line breaks and bullet points?+
Not yet. It tends to flatten lists into paragraphs, because the 2021 posts it learned from lost their formatting. Put the breaks back by hand.
Is it fine to post AI-drafted content on LinkedIn?+
LinkedIn hasn't banned it. What readers mind is a post that sounds like nobody in particular. Put your own facts and voice in it.
