Last updated October 1, 2026

In short

  • Full refund within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked.
  • Yearly renewals: full refund within 14 days of the renewal charge. Monthly renewals: cancel any time, no refund for the current month.
  • Billing mistakes, long outages on our side and Plans we end are refunded.
  • EU and UK consumers can withdraw within 14 days.
  • Email [email protected]. We refund within 5 business days of approval.

1.14-day money-back guarantee on your first payment

If you're not happy with Macaron, ask for a refund within 14 days of your first payment for a paid Plan and we'll refund it in full, no questions asked. This applies once per customer, whether the first payment was monthly or yearly.

We may decline a guarantee refund where we reasonably believe the guarantee is being abused, for example by opening new accounts to claim it repeatedly, or where the account was closed for breaking the Acceptable Use Policy. This never affects refund rights the law gives you.

2.Renewals

  • Yearly renewals. If your yearly Plan renews and you didn't mean it to, ask within 14 days of the renewal charge and we'll refund it in full, provided you haven't used more than a small amount of the renewed period's included credit. After 14 days, yearly renewals aren't refunded, but you can cancel so the Plan doesn't renew again.
  • Monthly renewals. Monthly renewals aren't refunded. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the month you paid for.
  • We send renewal reminders for yearly Plans 15 to 45 days before they renew, as described in the SaaS Agreement.

3.Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the billing settings in the app or by emailing [email protected]. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn't by itself refund the current period, except as this policy or the law provides. You keep access to paid features until the end of the period you paid for.

4.Credit

  • Credit bought separately can be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase if none of it has been used. Partly used credit isn't refunded.
  • Credit included in a Plan is part of the Plan and is refunded only together with the Plan under this policy.
  • Free or promotional credit has no cash value and is never refunded.

5.When something goes wrong on our side

  • Outages. If paid features are unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours because of a problem on our side, you can ask for a pro-rata refund or credit for the affected time.
  • Billing errors. If we charged you the wrong amount, charged you twice, or charged you after you cancelled, we'll refund the incorrect amount in full, whenever you tell us.
  • We end your Plan. If we end your Plan for reasons other than your breach of our terms, or stop offering the Services, we refund the unused part of your prepaid fees.
  • Material changes. If we make a change that materially reduces your Plan during a paid period, or a change to our terms that materially disadvantages you, you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period.

6.What isn't refunded

  • Usage of AI models and connected services on your own keys. Those are billed by the providers, not by us; ask them about refunds.
  • Partial periods after you cancel, except as this policy says.
  • Plans ended because you broke the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy, unless the law requires a refund.
  • Fees for periods that ended more than 14 days before your request, unless they were billed in error.

7.Your right of withdrawal (EU, EEA and UK consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from a Subscription within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations.

When you subscribe, you ask us to start providing the Services right away. If you withdraw, the law would allow us to keep an amount proportionate to what we provided before you withdrew, but under our 14-day guarantee we refund your first payment in full anyway.

To withdraw, email [email protected] with a clear statement, for example: "I withdraw from my Macaron subscription, ordered on [date], account [email]." You may also use the EU model withdrawal form. We refund within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method.

8.Other consumer laws

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, such as the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and New Zealand's Consumer Guarantees Act, which include a right to a refund or remedy for a major failure, or statutory rights in Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Korea and other countries. Where those laws give you more than this policy, they apply.

9.How to ask for a refund

  1. Email [email protected] from the email on your account, or include it in the message.
  2. Say which charge you want refunded (the date and amount, or the invoice number) and, if you like, why. Reasons help us improve but aren't required for the guarantee.
  3. We reply within 2 business days and, once approved, issue the refund within 5 business days.

10.How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. Your bank or card issuer usually shows them within 5 to 10 business days. Taxes we charged are refunded with the related fee. We can't refund currency conversion or bank fees your card issuer charged. A full refund ends the related Plan immediately; a partial refund may keep it active.

11.Chargebacks

Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; we can usually resolve it faster. If you open a chargeback for a charge that was authorized and is not refundable under this policy, we may suspend the account while the dispute is open. If the dispute is decided in your favour, we won't charge that amount again. Your statutory rights to dispute unauthorized charges are unaffected.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes apply to payments made after the update; payments made earlier are covered by the version in effect when you paid. The date at the top shows the latest version.
