GitHub reviews and fixes
Review every pull request, fix failing checks and answer @macaron in your repositories.
What it does
Once the Macaron GitHub App is installed on a repository and linked to your Macaron account, GitHub events start threads that run on your Mac.
- A review on every pull request: when one is opened, marked ready or pushed to, Macaron reviews it read-only and posts a pull request review with comments on the lines it found problems in.
- Fix failing checks: when the checks on a pull request fail, Macaron pushes a fix to its branch. Off until you turn it on for a repository.
- Commands: comment @macaron review or @macaron fix followed by what to change on a pull request, or @macaron with a task on an issue to get a draft pull request.
Set it up
In the desktop app, open Settings → Integrations. Turn on Run threads on this Mac, then use Install on GitHub in the GitHub card and choose the repositories. Each project on this Mac from an installed account gets two switches: Review PRs (on by default) and Fix failing checks (off by default). Threads run only while Macaron is open and the project is added.
Who can start what
Commands count only from people with write access to the repository. Pull requests from forks are only reviewed; Macaron never pushes to them. Macaron ignores its own comments and pushes, and comments from bots, so it never answers itself.
What you see on GitHub
Each thread keeps one comment up to date: queued, which Mac picked it up, and the result. A review becomes a pull request review. A fix or task ends with what changed, the pull request and any screenshots or recordings the agent took as proof.
Limits
Auto-fix works from what GitHub’s checks report: titles, summaries and annotations, not full logs. It runs once per commit and at most three times a day per pull request. Reviews comment on lines the pull request changes or shows; other findings are listed in the review.
