Sentry
Turn a Sentry error into a fix: a thread with the stack trace, and the pull request back on the issue.
Set it up
In Sentry, create an internal integration for Macaron under Settings → Developer Settings, with read and write access to Issue & Event and read access to Project and Organization. Set its webhook URL to https://macaron.sh/api/hooks/sentry, turn on Alert Rule Action, and copy its token and client secret. In the desktop app, open Settings → Integrations, turn on Run threads on this Mac, and in the Sentry card enter your organization slug, region, the token and the client secret, then press Connect Sentry. Pick a repository for each project.
What starts a thread
Each starts one “Fix:” thread with the issue’s title, culprit, stack trace and a link back. One Sentry issue never has two open threads.
- An alert rule whose action sends a notification to your Macaron integration.
- Fix with Macaron in the Sentry card: paste an issue link.
- Every new issue, when Fix new issues automatically is on in the card. It is off by default.
Follow along
Macaron comments on the Sentry issue when the thread starts, and again with the summary, the pull request and the proof when it finishes, or with the reason it failed or stopped.
Good to know
The thread runs on your Mac with your GitHub access. A project without a repository starts nothing. To disconnect, use the bin button in the Sentry card, then delete the internal integration in Sentry, which also revokes its token.
